I was born and brought up in Irlams o’ th’ Height, a small village found where the A580 (East Lancs Road) and the A6 (Bolton Road) meet. This gallery will show some archive images, shot by myself and by my father, principally from late 1969 to 1980, a period when half the Height was demolished to make way for a new dual carriageway into Manchester.
