The new IR-converted DSLR is going well, and this week some warm weather tempted me out into Tyldesley Cemetery in the hope that there was plenty of IR light around. And there was. I liked the tones that came out of this one, but also the fantastic, gritty texture of the stone. Unlike shooting on IR film, with its soft edges and excess grain, shooting on digital brings us a new type of IR, sharp and crisp. The converted camera is also much better than the “pseudo-IR” that can be created in Photoshop.
